ILLUSTRATOR: Lie Setiawan
DESCRIPTION: Commander is the most popular format for Magic and for the March of the Machine launch five decks were introduced. No set to date has produced over four Commander decks. March of the Machine was the first to introduce five as it was a pivotal story moment in the history of Magic.
ILLUSTRATOR: Chris Rallis
DESCRIPTION: After his phenomenal work on Draft, Chris was the obvious choice to illustrate the first "Epilogue" set art. In this illustration we see de-sparked Planeswalkers walking through a portal to a plane whose destination wasn't known to them. This is a crop of the final art that is seen below and was used for online marketing.
ILLUSTRATOR: Boneface
DESCRIPTION: Using inspiration from my childhood this piece showcases the desparked and fallen Planeswalkers (the heroes) of the setting. The final packaging uses foil substrate to shine and the playmat also uses a sparkly base to help the artwork shine even more!

DESCRIPTION: The Epilogue Booster display art that Chris prepared was the perfect choice for the Bungle that includes a myriad of boosters and a special spin down 20 sided die.

DESCRIPTION: The Collector display, booster, and playmat were the perfect place to showcase his amazing artwork!
ILLUSTRATOR: Alex Dos Diaz, the brothers Hildebrandt, and Jeff Carpenter
DESCRIPTION: Alex's work on the Lord of the Rings Starter Key Art was absolutely phenomenal! In conjunction with this release the 6th Edition Starter Kit was released and Jeff Carpenter did a an amazing job of blending both decks into a central illustration showcasing the Planeswalker symbol.
For the Lord of the Rings Holiday Collector edition the Hildebrandt brothers knocked it out of the park with their nearly 40 year old artwork that had to be utilized for this packaging piece!
ILLUSTRATOR: Aurore Folny and Pace Wilder
DESCRIPTION: Aurore illustrated the key art (top) and Pace illustrated the expansive base wrap (below). For this smaller set we wanted to fuss on Ral and Ravnica. We leaned even harder into the Thousand Year Storm from the setting to push Ral's electrical mastery to compliment the base wrap art.

ILLUSTRATOR: John Tedrick
DESCRIPTION: This piece is a small insert for the Lost Caverns of Ixalan. When John illustrated this piece I didn't expect that he would illustrate EVERY dinosaur on the page in layers but he did. To quote Indiana Jones, "This belongs in a museum!".
ILLUSTRATOR: Nestór Ossandón Leal
DESCRIPTION: Having worked with Nezt for five years I knew he would knock this piece out of the park. He did and it has become one of the central marketing images for the set!
ILLUSTRATOR: Nestór Ossandón Leal and Pace Wilder
DESCRIPTION: Nestor illustrated an amazing piece with a tall order by way of lighting and subject matter. The base wrap that Pace illustrated compliments the key art and expands on the world even further than the limited dimensions of the key art.
ILLUSTRATOR: Lie Setiawan
DESCRIPTION: Lie is the most reliable and amazing artist to work with over the years. He was the obvious choice for the Commander decks. He did an amazing job illustrating these characters and their diversity. Brass (upper left) required the utmost care as her likeness is based upon Jason Rainsville's mother. Getting Brass' likeness right was important so I created an email thread between so that Jason could also chime in on likeness with Lie through the process.
